We were riding in the car. We heard on the radio there was white smoke. We were excited. A new pope! We went home fast and turned on the TV. All the stations showed St. Peter’s square. Everyone was so happy. We waited and waited. Then the curtains opened. A Cardinal said at the microphone: We have a Pope. His name is Pope Francis. When Pope Francis came out, he asked us to pray for him. We all prayed at our house with all the people in the world. Then he gave us a blessing.
That night we saw a video on the news of St. Ignatius High School. The boys were cheering for the white smoke.
At Mass, now we pray for Pope Francis everyday.
