Monica has been working in the kitchen of a nursing home since February. Technically she is not employed by the nursing home because she is in a Community Work Experience program through an agency that provides job training for people with disabilities. She is paid by the agency and the nursing home considers the workers from the agency as if they are volunteers, even though they do tasks that employees would perform rather than the kinds of tasks volunteers would do. So, even though we think of her as an employee, the nursing home named Monica Volunteer of the Month for August.
They took her photo and interviewed her to create a special bulletin board.
No one looks good in a hairnet!
Then employees of the nursing home had the opportunity to write notes and post them on the bulletin board.
You can see she is a valued member of the team!
Here are some photos of her doing her job.
